Home Hardware Top Prospects Game 2011

The Home Hardware Top Prospects Game

The Home Hardware Top Prospects Game is an annual event sponsored by Home Hardware and hosted by the CHL in which 40 of the top NHL Entry Draft eligible prospects in the Canadian Hockey League play against each other much like an all-star game. Each draft prospect hopes to boost their draft ranking with the NHL scouts and general managers who attend. The players are typically coached by a pair of hockey celebrities, usually Don Cherry and Bobby Orr. This year, Team Orr will be coached by Leafs greats Doug Gilmour and Wendel Clark. The event has been held annually since 1992. From 1992 to 1995 the event was known as the CHL All-Star Challenge and usually pitted one of the CHL's leagues against the other two.

Play-by-Play is being handled by Mel Raskin who for many years broadcast the games of Team Canada at the World Junior and World Hockey Championships. More recently, Mel has broadcast both the Top Prospects and the Memorial Cup games on THE FAN 590.

Broadcast analyst Steve Spott has been involved with Hockey Canada's Program of Excellence. He is the Head Coach and General Manager of the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League. He has worked with Mel before and brings a keen insight and sharp analysis, coupled with a friendly style, to the broadcast booth.

The Executive Producer of this webcast is Alysha Harvey who has managed content and broadcast logistics with Mel for over 8 years. The Engineer for this webcast is Paul Kempffer.
